 Hi friends,
 welcome to this new release of my MegaCD Tools!!!
 MegaCD Tools were born to let me index and explore my CDs through an easy
 to  use  AmigaGuide  interface.   I got the idea from the Aminet CDs, but
 then  i've  had other inspirations (together with my great friend Maxime)
 and  so  i've  transformed a simple tool in a new, fast, great, cool file
 manager  to easily create indexes and explore CDs and HDs (but also other
 volumes or just specific directories).
                     The MegaCD Tools are:

 You can use the MegaCD Tools to explore your CD-ROMs, you can use them as
 a  file  manager,  you  can  use  them  to  create  indexes of your files
 (pictures,  music  modules,  animations,  and so on), you can use them to
 navigate  through the infinity of your dirs and sub-dirs.  You can do all
 those things through a fast and easy to use AmigaGuide interface.
 @{"MegaCDtree" link "megacdtreeusage"} is a little proggy to build a complete dir-tree of a CD-ROM, a
 volume  or  a  specific  directory.   The  dir-tree will automagically be
 converted  into  an  AmigaGuide  file and each directory of the tree will
 become a clickable field,  so you will be able to click a dir and  @{"MegaCD" link "megacdusage"}
 will  automagically  scan  it  in order to create another AmigaGuide file
 containing  all  the  files,  the  descriptions  (if  there are any), the
 possible actions and the sub-dirs contained in it.  Of course every file,
 every  description,  every action and every sub-dir will became clickable
 fields   themselves,  so  you'll  be  able  to  easily  explore  all  the
 directories in order to perform every possible action on your files.  The
 only difficult thing is probably to write this guide, so i suggest you to
 install  and run them soon.  I can assure you that these programs are the
 simplest and fastest idea ever!!!
 You'll be able to play samples and mods, view images and anims (including
 MPEG!),  read  files  (including  HTML docs!), extract (but also list and
 test,   when  possible)  lha,  lzx,  dms  and  zoom  archives  (with  the
 possibility  to  view  the  file_id.diz) or simply copy a file to another
 dir.   Moreover  MegaCD  will  associate  the  program  Multiview  to the
 unknown-format files, in order to try visualizing them through datatypes.

 You  can  use  the  supplied  Installer  script just clicking on its icon
 (raccomended),  or  you  can install MegaCD Tools by hand following these
 simple steps:
 - according to the free ram (chip or fast) you have on your system,
   select a version of MegaCD and MegaCDtree. Of course the versions that
   uses the largest amount of ram are also the versions that manage the
   largest amount of files and the biggest directory trees.

   partition, copy @{"MegaCDprefs" link "megacdprefs"} to @{B}Sys:Prefs@{ub} and put the other
   files (MegaCDtree, MegaCDgui and MegaCD.guide) wherever you want.

 - Any 68020+ (32bit) Amiga.
 - AmigaOS 3.0+ if you wanna use requesters and datatypes.
 - Enough free ram: at least 400Kb  to use MegaCD
                             700Kb  to use MegaCDtree
 - @{b}RAM:@{ub} and @{b}t:@{ub} have to exist.
 Nothing  more.   Of course it could work on the other Amigas, but i don't
 know.   If  you have slow and old Amigas just upgrade them!  Maybe you'll
 need some extra RAM, if you're going to scan big TREEs.
 Anyway,  if  you wanna use ALL the features of the MegaCD utils, you need
 external  tools  (we  suggest  you  the  following ones, all available on
 @{B}Aminet@{ub}):

 Here is the full syntax:

 If you leave MegaCD blank, you'll have the index of current dir.
 If  you write the comment without specifying the directory to scan, MegaCD
 will try to scan the first word of the comment as it was a dir.
  @{b}TO@{ub} @{i}outfile@{ui}   is to specify an outfile name, @{b}TO@{ub} must be UPCASED, or it will
               be considered just as a part of the comment.
 You Can also use @{"MegaCDgui" link "megacdgui"}, the GUI for MegaCD.
 MegaCDgui reads @{"S:MegaCDtree.prefs" link "megacdtreeprefs"} to know MegaCD's path.
 In the @{b}output@{ub} file you'll find some fields to click:
  @{b}FILENAME@{ub}    to make an action corresponding to the file type
              (extract it if it's an archive, view it if it's an image,
              play it if it's a music module, and so on)
  @{b}C@{ub}           to copy the file
  @{b}D@{ub}           to read the file_id.diz (if there's any)
  @{b}T@{ub}           to test the archive
  @{b}L@{ub}           to list the content of the archive
  @{b}R@{ub}           to read a HTML file
 Moreover  MegaCD  will create a field containing the "Short:" line of  the
 .readme  (or  .rdm)  file  of  the  relative  archive, if it exists.  This
 feature  is  particularly  useful  if  you  are  going to scan directories
 containing Aminet files (and their .readme files of course!).
 Since the release  @{B}1.2@{ub}, MegaCD  is able to navigate trough subdirs, so you
 can use it as a replacement of DirOpus! :)

 Finally i did it!
 With  @{B}MegaCDgui@{ub}  you  can easily  scan your  directories  without knowing
 anything  about  the MegaCD syntax.  Just select the dir to scan with the
 proper  requester  and start the program.  You can also indicate where to
 save the output Amigaguide file and you can eventually add a comment.
 You can also run @{b}MegaCDprefs@{ub} from the menu bar.

 If you don't wanna waste your time editing the MegaCD prefs file by hand,
 here's  a  fast  and  easy  way  to do it!  Just pick the tools you wanna
 associate to MegaCD's actions.

 - Due to AmigaGuide limitations, @{B}PATHS MUST NOT CONTAIN SPACES@{ub}.
   Eg.  Use @{i}ram:@{ui} and not @{i}"Ram Disk:"@{ui}
   MegaCDgui checks spaces in names and tells you to change them.
   MegaCDprefs checks for spaces too, so it doesn't accept bad names, but it
   doesn't  write  warning messages.  So, if you try to select some file and
   MegaCDprefs refuses it, maybe it contains some spaces.
 - For  memory  reasons  i  had  to compile  different versions of MegaCD  &
   MegaCDtree.
    With 700 Kb version of MegaCDtree you can scan Aminet CDs.
    With 1200Kb you can scan EARCD too.
    With 1700Kb you scan Fish CD's too, the most complex filetree i've ever
                seen.
   A  complex  CD contains about 2000 dirs, so the limit will not be reached
   so  often.   However  don't  be  angry if some runtime error will happens
   while  scanning  very  big  filetrees!  Just execute proggy selecting one
   subdir each time.
 - Sometimes MegaCD leaves some little output file in T:, so if it's a
   big problem for you, just delete it by hand... :)
 - Music  modules  are  played JUST if the @{B}.mod@{ub}  extension is at the end  of
   their filenames, so please use filename.mod and not mod.filename.
   You can use  @{b}DELITRACKER2@{ub} ,  @{B}SMARTPLAY@{ub}  all the other modplayers that use
   this same syntax:
     ModPlayerName  @{b}MODULE@{ub} @{I}NameOfTheModule@{UI}
 - Due to some really strange bug, this program could format the HDs  of all
   the @{B}Ram Jam@{ub} members. If you know how to fix it, please @{B}DON'T TELL ME@{ub} ..:)
 - Message to the Italian Guys:
   Raga', non m'andava di tradurre la guida in Italiano.
   Comunque e' in inglese cosi' maccheronico che si capisce al volo! :)
 However, these limitations are not so troublesome, because i've tested the
 proggy  with  all the ROOT  dirs of Aminet 14, 13, 12, 11, 10, 9, 8, 7 CDs
 and all worked correctly!
 If you find some BUG, please contact @{" me " link "credits"}, sending the output file too, if
 there's any (and, of course, specifying your configuration!).

 MegaCD  Tools  are free, but it doesn't mean that you can do whatever you
 want with them.  If you're going to use them to index some commercial CD,
 just  send me a copy.  You can upload them whenever you want (Aminet CDs,
 bbs, ftp sites, and so on), but please do not modify the archive.
 If  you  think  they're  cool (as they are) and you are a charitable guy,
 just  send  me  a  present  (a  postcard,  the  keyfile of your shareware
 program, some money, an Infinitiv Tower, a CyberVision 3D)..  ;)
